Juanjo Miro: handmade photos!

Today Juanjo opens his doors and tells us how he lives his art intimately and comes here every Sunday to share it with us at the Agro-Craft Market!

This portrait painter from Alcoy has found over 6 years ago the cradle of his inspiration in Fuerteventura. Throughout his life he has been dedicated to the art of playing with his hands what he sees. Something that very few can boast. He has the talent inside, because since he was a child, he breathed the atmosphere of a home filled with art, because his father was a furniture designer.

Over 25 years ago he began to emerge in the world of painting. With few materials but with much talent, he became a born portraitist, even winning competitions at school. He always has near two things: his metal box with sepia and pastel paintings, and a notebook. And obviously his two hands full of magic! Besides, never leaves behind all the knowledge he acquired studying Arts and Crafts in Alcoy.

He modestly describes his great skill as a simple way to communicate with the audience through its "color language". He ensures that the real work isn't done by him, quite the opposite "the real work is made by people who receive and interpret my work."

We currently live in a world overrun by mass production, and the value of unique art is not appreciated. As he says, "the illustrators have an advantage." If something ia different in Juanjo Miro's pictures, it's that he carefully observes something and versioned it, including the emotional part that is not capable of transmitting a printer.

There is a secret in his way to give volume to the paper so it seems that the faces are in 3 dimensions. The trick is in the colors! With lights and shadows he gets the effect like you see in the pictures.

What is his goal? Hired himself to live his talent. So often he decides to replace the paper and pastry, for a canvas and a brush, showing that he is able not only to make a rigorously accurate picture, but also to show its abstract side. Definitely a complete artist

When asked Juanjo why he comes every Sunday to Agro-Craft Market, and he answered "I can create my art here while connecting with people". You can't deny is a sight to see in live, like a blank paper emerging faces and exactly the same as the model that is sitting in front of him.

Have you seen his work? If you want to know more in detail Juanjo Miro you can see exhibitions closed in Local No. 10 in “Campanario” Mall in Corralejo. He also will be with us every Sunday in our Agro-Craft Market, accompanied by many more artisans and farmers!
